My husband & I are taking our 8yr dau. & 7yr son for the Girl Scout 100 yr Celebration this May for their first WDW trip. This is a group trip through the Youth program & room, tickets & dining are all seperate. Please explain dining cards

    Hi Stephanie,

You are correct that trips planned through the Disney Youth office typically issue separate theme park, hotel, and dining tickets.  Each participant in the trip will receive a Key to the World card which acts as his or her room key.  Assuming your group leaders included them as part of the trip, participants will also receive theme park tickets (which can be parkhoppers or regular one park per day tickets based on the specific order your group placed), and a predetermined number of meal coupons.

The meal coupons are quite handy and can be used at a wide variety of restaurants throughout Walt Disney World property.  Participating restaurants (typically of the quick service variety) are listed on the back of each coupon.  You'll have to ask your group leader whether your meal coupons will be dispensed to you all at once at the beginning of your trip or whether you will receive a daily allotment.  Instead of working with meal coupons, some groups opt for a Disney gift card with a fixed dollar amount that can be used at any retail or dining venue throughout Walt Disney World.  This is the more flexible option offered by the Disney Youth office, but it requires more planning and budgeting on behalf of the kids.  The Girls Scouts have some additional dining options, including a breakfast buffet scheduled for May 26th and 27th.  You'll have to check with your leader to see if they selected this option when they booked your group's package.

Let me know if you have any additional questions about Disney Youth vacations.  Please wish your daughters a truly magical trip from this former Girl Scout!
