Hi Kristi,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a blast & I think its worth the $ especially if you've never been. Since you'll be there in Oct, I'd put this on my must do list.
It is a special ticketed event so MK will not be as crowded which shortens lines & makes it easier to maneuver the park. Everyone (including adults) is encouraged to dress up. You'll be boarding rides so keep that in mind when selecting costumes & be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
MK will be decked out in Halloween decorations. When you enter, be sure to pick up a MNSSHP Guide Map. You'll each be given a Trick-or-Treat bag (or bring your own). There will be several locations throughout the park where you can T-o-T (locations are marked on the Guide Map). There are several character M&G locations around the park. The characters dress up for Halloween too! PhotoPass Photographers will be located throughout the park.
Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade is awesome & is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. (its easier to get a good spot for the 2nd parade). The Happy HalloWishes fireworks are scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Not every attraction is open during MNSSHP - but the most popular ones will be - check the Guide Map for a list.
There are a couple of character dance party locations & a Disney Villains Mix & Mingle in front of Cinderella Castle. Alice & Mad Hatter's Treat Party is along the back path b/t Toontown & Tomorrowland. These will be all listed on the Guide Map.
With young kids, I'd recommend a low key day w/ a long nap the day you plan to attend MNSSHP. That way, they'll be able to stay up later & enjoy the party. Tix are available online & can be purchased by clicking
here. Wishing you spooktacular memories :-) Allison
