Hi Megan,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your Rider Switch question! How exciting that you and your husband will be visiting with your little Mousketeer—what a magical trip this will be! While there are so many
no-height-requirement attractions, shows, and parades perfect for your little one, I completely understand wanting to sneak in a few of the more thrilling adventures, like
Tiana’s Bayou or
Guardians of the Galaxy.
So let’s dive into your question. Here’s how
Rider Switch works: one adult waits with your child while the other experiences the attraction. When the first rider returns, the waiting adult can then hop on the attraction without having to wait in the full standby queue. It’s a wonderful way for parents to enjoy the magic without missing out. In the meantime, the waiting adult can grab a snack (a Mickey pretzel, anyone? ) or enjoy a little playtime with your Mouseketeer until it’s their turn.
The
single rider line is a separate option designed only for Guests riding alone, so it can’t be combined with Rider Switch. But if you’re hoping to save even more time, here’s a pixie-dusted tip: Rider Switch works hand-in-hand with Lightning Lane. As long as both adults have purchased the
Lightning Lane for that attraction, the first rider can use the Lightning Lane queue, and then the second rider will be able to use it too—helping everyone spend less time waiting and more time making memories.
Megan, I hope this helps as you get ready for your magical adventure! If you have any further questions as you plan, please don't hesitate to visit us again.
See ya real soon,
Christina
