My husband and I are taking our two daughters aged 8 and 6 Oct 4-11th. What new things and tips do you recommend for us to do while we are at Magic Kingdom? We are eating at the Beast's castle, what else?!?

    Hi Jason,

I'm guessing that you're in the middle of packing and getting reading for your vacation!

When it comes to new experiences at the Magic Kingdom, you've already got one of my favorites on your radar - Be Our Guest Restaurant. (I'm a self-proclaimed Disney foodie and I get just as excited about the restaurants as I do the attractions and shows!)

Not only is the food awesome, but also the restaurant was designed to be an attraction in its own right. If you can, take a few minutes to explore the details and see how the Disney Imagineers have been able to immerse the guests into the various scenes of Beauty and the Beast.

(This would normally be where I would recommend something in particular that you should try on the menu. The problem is....I haven't had anything there that was anything less than awesome!)

As you can imagine, I can go on for days about the food experiences at the Magic Kingdom, but I'll restrain myself and talk about some other things!

If you haven't already made plans, I absolutely recommend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. There will be a whole host of special experiences (e.g. parades, fireworks, stage shows, etc.), plus many of the normal attractions will be open as well.

Finally, I have to recommend some time exploring New Fantasyland. Since you'll already be visiting Be Our Guest Restaurant, make sure you save some time to explore the rest of this re-imagined area of the Magic Kingdom.

Here's a bonus tip from your buddy Derek:

Save some time for the classic attractions (e.g. The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.) as well because many of them have been updated over the past few years!

I hope that helps and I hope you have an awesome vacation!

    Best regards,
    Derek
