My husband and I are taking our two children to Disney World in April, and are staying at the All Star Music Resort. We scheduled a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's at 7:15am and were wondering what we can expect for travel time by bus.

I would allow at least an hour if not a bit more to catch a Magic Kingdom bus from your resort and then you will need to either take the monorail to the Contemporary or a quick 10 minute walk to the resort.  When you arrive at your resort, I might also suggest checking with guest services when the first buses begin running to the Magic Kingdom on the day of your reservation just to double-check everything for peace of mind.  Of course, you could always save time by taking a taxi directly to the Contemporary if you'd don't mind spending a little extra for that.  Have fun at Chef Mickey's.  The Concourse Lobby of the Contemporary was recently renovated, so if you have time, enjoy exploring!
