Hey there Cristina and welcome to planDisney!
I'm so excited to hear that your family will be visiting
The Most Magical Place on Earth next month. My goddaughter was turning 5 when I brought her for the first time and I can tell you you've picked great ages for them to go. The magic is still so real and big for them at this age and the looks on their little faces will stay in your heart forever. Of course, at that age, there are still some essentials that the adults need to carry for the little adventurers. I always recommend that each adult carry a bag. Most
attractions allow you to either keep them with you or have a bag in front of you to put items in. Personally, I was able to carry the essentials for both me and my goddaughter in a small backpack purse. With two littles to look after, two bags should be plenty.
Park bag essentials can be different for every family. But I caution you not to find yourself overladen with toy cars, tablets, etc. Outside of general basics like your lip balm, hand sanitizer, and sunglasses, what I usually recommend for a family with children in that age bracket is:
1. Extra underwear, shorts, and socks. While potty training is well past over, we all know that accidents can occasionally happen especially when waiting in a long line. Luckily these items remained camp rolled in my backpack purse unused but it's better to be safe than sorry.
2. Baby wipes. Anybody with littles knows that sticky hands and faces are the name of the game at this age. They're going to be your best friend on this trip.
3. Portable chargers. I can't tell you how many times I've been spotted with a charging cable sticking out of my backpack with it connected to the phone in my hand while everyone around me is looking for an outlet.
4. Sunscreen. They don't call it The Sunshine State for nothin'! All the pixie dust in the world won't stop that Florida sun from leaning on you with all its might.
Pro-tip: Carry a sandwich bag full of each little adventurer's favorite snack. Sometimes a little taste of the familiar can go a long way toward soothing any tantrums that may rear their ugly heads in all the unfamiliar sights and sounds.
Cristina, I hope you have the best time ever with your beautiful family. Take all the pictures you can. And if you have any other questions, please feel free to
come back and ask me.
Happy planning!
Taylor
