My husband and I are taking our twin 4-year-olds on our first Disney cruise aboard the Magic soon. Would it make sense to buy just 2 Magicband+, one for my husband and myself? There doesn’t seem to be a reason to buy them for my twins.

Oh boy, Lauren! Thank you for stopping by planDisney to ask this great question! I bet you're so excited for your family to go on your very first Disney Cruise - I'm excited for you!

My two young boys embarked on their very first Disney Cruise on the Disney Magic last April and, let me tell you, it was beyond their wildest dreams. They're still talking about it! If your boys are anything like mine, they will be delighted by the royal treatment during rotational dining, the fireworks during the "Pirates in the Caribbean" Deck Party, and the never-ending soft serve ice cream on the pool deck. Your family is in for a real treat.

I love that you're thinking about purchasing DisneyBand+ for you and your husband, Lauren! Having mine for stateroom access is super convenient! I agree that it's not necessary for your sons to have their own DisneyBand+. All kids ages 10 and under will be provided a complimentary Disney Oceaneer Band (similar to the DisneyBand+, but different) for use while you are onboard, which will allow them access in and out of the Kids Clubs! This was super helpful for my boys! And I suspect your boys will enjoy being "just like mom and dad."

If you'd like to purchase a DisneyBand+ before you set sail, it's easy! Log onto your account on the Disney Cruise Line website and select "Already Booked." Then, under "My Reservations," you should see the option to purchase a band. I recommend doing this a couple weeks before you set sail to allow enough time for Captain Mickey to get it to you!

If you don't end up purchasing a band before your sailing, Lauren, that's okay! You can find Disneyband+ for purchase at gift shops onboard.

TIP: Make sure you have the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App downloaded before you sail away on your cruise, Lauren. It will be your best pal while aboard, besides Mickey Mouse, of course. The entire list of daily activities, from Kids Club to trivia, movie showings to nightly themes, are located in the app. My family could easily scroll through and give a little "heart" to anything that interested us, and it would automatically create our own personal itinerary with all our favorite picks!

I hope that this information has been helpful for you, Lauren, but more than that, I truly hope you and your family have the most magical time on your Disney Cruise. There's really nothing like it. If you have any other questions that come up in your planning, give us a holler! We're happy to help!

    Magic awaits,
    McCayla
