My husband and I are taking our son (who will be turning 2 on Jan. 12) to Disney this coming up weekend (Jan 10-12)Any suggestions on how to make his birthday (and 1st trip to Disney) super special? He LOVES Peter Pan and Mickey :-)

    Hello Tara,

First of all, happy early birthday to your son on behalf of all of us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Celebrating in this magical place will definitely be one to remember for the rest of his life.

Be sure to ask for a birthday button when you arrive. If you are staying on property, you can get one upon check-in. If not, you can get one at any of the guest services counters at the theme parks. Have him wear it and he'll love all the special attention he'll gets.

Getting a set of personalized Mickey Ears is an iconic way to remember this special occasion. There are tons of choices. They even have a set that have a birthday theme. He can meet his favorite mouse at Mickey's Town Square near the entrance to Magic Kingdom.

Be sure to ride Peter Pan's Flight in Fantasyland. This ride, which happens to be this 30-something mom's absolute favorite attraction in all of Walt Disney World is super cute and he will certainly enjoy riding in a "flying" pirate ship.

You can also order a personalized birthday cake to be delivered to select dining locations. Simply call the Disney cake hotline at (407) 827-2253. Keep in mind that you must call at least 72 hours prior to the date you need it. The cast members will be happy to assist you in making this a unique treat for him.

I hope you have a wonderful and memorable trip.
