Hi, My husband and I are taking our 23 month old daughter on our first cruise, Disney Cruise next week (April 22, 2015). It's our first trip with her and I'm wondering what are the best tips when travelling with a toddler??

    Welcome Aboard, TOM!

I'm so happy to hear you'll be setting sail on your first Disney Cruise with your little one. Get ready - you're about to make the most magical memories ever!

My daughter had just turned two on our very first Disney Cruise. My only regret is that I didn't take more pictures and videos. It's fun to look back and see how tiny she was on our first sailing. She was in awe of all the princesses - especially Mulan, who became her best buddy on the ship! We still have a framed photo of her with Mulan in our kitchen - sweet memories, for sure.

Also, make sure to take advantage of the wonderful Youth Services on the ship, so you can relax and enjoy some "grown-up time" on your vacation. For the littlest cruisers, there's Flounder's Reef on the Disney Wonder, and It's a Small World Nursery on the Disney Magic, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. The nursery requires reservations, and has a minimal fee.  Highly-trained Youth Counselors entertain and care for the littlest guests while the grownups have a quiet dinner or enjoy the nightclubs and lounges.

Each day, you'll receive a Personal Navigator, a detailed daily schedule of all the fun activities happening onboard the ship. Make sure to look over the schedule each night so you can see if there are any "can't miss" activities your little princess will enjoy. At that age, our daughter loved meeting her favorite Disney Friends. There's a dedicated section in the Navigator for Character Greetings so you'll know exactly when and where her favorite characters will be meeting and greetings guests!

I hope these little tips are helpful! I hope you have a most magical time with your little princess! - Diane W.
