Kathy from GA Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My husband and I are taking our grandkids and their parents to Disney world in two weeks. We have used a Disney planner and purchased the food plans and fast passes. This is essentially our first visit and I am worried I am not thinking of everything.

Hi Kathy! My husband and I are often bringing our family including grandchildren for wonderful Walt Disney World vacations. It is the best place to have the family reunions as there is something for everyone to do and enjoy.

It sounds like you have the dining plan and hopefully the dining reservations for each day. It is best to reserve dining in the parks you will be in versus outside of the park and having to go back and forth. I suggest one table service meal each day where the entire group can meet up and communicate all the excitement they have had during the day. It forces you to also sit and rest for a bit which is not a bad idea for any age.

Fastpasses have been checked off your list which means you have a plan for which parks to visit during your stay on each day. Check to see which parks have extra magic hours as that might change when you arrive or depart. Always check for the parade and firework schedule as well as Disney can not be beat when it comes to those two things.

Now my advice is to make sure you save room for some of the other fun things that are available at Walt Disney World. Take a look at the recreation options such as swimming, fishing, and boating. Some things will be extra cost while other things are free for all ages. Reservations for specialty cruises and some recreation options will be needed. I love the Illumination and Wishes Fireworks cruises for a special family treat.

We also use the wonderful Disney Dollars as a special treat for the family at dinner. We have envelopes of ones and one five and one ten. We pass them out and see who is the lucky winner at each meal and to this day my grown children insist we play this game. Always fun to see smiles on everyone's faces at the end of a long day in the park.
