My Husband & I will be taking our very first Disney Cruise in August. My question is...Do we use Disney’s Magical Express to get to Port Canaveral the morning of our cruise if we will already be at a Disney Hotel?

    Ahoy Elizabeth!

I love hEARing you will be taking your FIRST Disney cruise soon! And the fact that it will be a land and sea vacation? Bravo! Whether it's the Disney Dream or the Disney Fantasy you'll be sailing on from Port Canaveral, you and your husband are in for a real treat!

Taking Disney Cruise Line ground transportation to the port from Walt Disney World Resort is always an added way to sprinkle pixie dust on your vacation. Under the My Reservations tab on the Disney Cruise Line website, you can select ground transportation and put which Walt Disney World resort you will be staying at before you set sail, and Disney Cruise Line will handle the rest!

You receive paperwork in your resort room that includes instructions on where and when to meet your motor coach the next day. Once ground transportation delivers you to Port Canaveral for check-in, you will receive a Boarding Group number which will determine when you can actually board the ship. When your group number is called, your nautical adventure will have officially started!

Since you are new to Disney cruising, let me offer a few tips on how to make the most of this first time experience:

-Make sure you make advance reservations for spa treatments, Port Adventures, adults-only dining at Palo or Remy, and Beverage Tastings. Since this is your very first Disney cruise, your booking window for this opens 75 days prior to your sailing. Plenty of time to secure reservations to your desired activities!

-My highest recommendation? Treat yourself to a Rainforest Room pass at Senses Spa and Salon for at least one day (if not the entire cruise). Hands down, this is my absolute favorite when I sail. Heated tile loungers, steam room, aromatherapy showers, and jacuzzis...need I say more? I call it an investment in my health and well-being! These are popular, so book ahead of time by calling (800) 601-8455 or make arrangements early on your first day onboard at the spa (Deck 11, Forward).

-Soak in a sunset view with cocktails on deck at Satellite Falls or at my very favorite bar, Skyline. Watch the photos on the walls-that's all I'm going to say so I don't spoil the surprise!
-Make sure you have downloaded the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before you arrive at the port. This app will be a DREAM come true in assisting you with daily schedules, entertainment,  deck plans, menus, and even setting reminders so you don't miss a single moment.

There's so much more than I can pack in just one answer, so I hope you'll drop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any additional questions!

    Happy Sailing!
