Hello! My husband and I are taking the Disney Cruise to Alaska next week (first time to Alaska, third Disney Cruise). I rarely wear make-up and wondered if the salon offers make-up application for the formal dinner? If so, do I provide my own make-up?

    Hi, Jodie!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the beautiful Disney Wonder to Alaska!  My friends returned last week from its inaugural voyage, and their collective word was "Wow!" I've been seeing their photos of the Disney characters dressed in new Alaskan outfits, and I can't wait for my turn to sail with my family later this summer!

One of the things I keep hearing is that you need to dress for adventure during the day and glamor at night.  Therefore, I understand your careful planning about getting fixed up for the formal evening.  I've been researching your answer for a few days now, and although I can't get a definitive answer, here is what I do know.  The Vista Salon aboard the Disney Wonder accepts appointments once you're on board, and its aestheticians are skilled in styling hair and in giving manicures, pedicures and facial treatments. Therefore, more than likely, they have also been trained in make-up application -- although its not listed under current treatment offerings.

My advice is to bring your make-up with you on board with the hope that a Cast Member from the Vista Salon will be able to assist you in your evening's preparations. They may in fact have their own supplies, but you will want to be prepared just in case they do not have what you would like to wear.

I hope that helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
