    Hi, my husband and I will be taking our boys, 11 and 8, to WDW for the first time Oct '14. We would like to stay in one of the resorts. When is the best time to make reservations to get the best deals on resort and meal plans?

    Hi Jyle, welcome to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel!

    Congratulations on your family's first Walt Disney World vacation.

    Only a few resorts have rooms that sold out early and require reservations with more than 360 days in advance.

    Still, guests can book their resort or package and wait to see if special offers become available as your vacation approaches.  Booking a reservation without airfare only requires a $200 deposit and can be modify or cancel with up to 45 days prior to arrival.
    Special offers usually are announced 3 to 4 months before discounted dates.

    Try booking advance dining reservations 180 days in advance, to find availability at all your favorite restaurants.
