My husband and I are surprising our 5 y/o with a Christmas Disney vacation and we have a red eye Christmas Eve. There won’t be time to decorate the room before Christmas Day and I didn’t know if there were options outside of the floral arrangements service

    Hey there,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney Rebekah! Surprise trips are the best, and your little Mouseketeer has no idea what fun lies ahead! This trip, even though it is going to be a late flight will be an amazing adventure for your family. Going to the Walt Disney World resort during the holidays is easily the most magical season to visit. Each and every resort has its own holiday style, and the decorations are always very impressive. When it comes to decorating your room, the only options would be the Magical Floral & Gifts options available online. What I can recommend even though you have a red eye is possibly having the decorations stored somewhere in your luggage and when you wake up do it together. You can pretend Mickey dropped them off since you are staying at his house for the night. If you aren’t able to do that, maybe something simple like stockings that will make waking up feel a little bit like home. Luckily, all the resorts are dressed in their holiday best, and so are the parks. Of course my favorite is Magic Kingdom Park, which always has a huge Christmas tree at the base of Main Street USA.

Visiting the parks during the holidays gives me all the nostalgic feels from when I was a child. When you bring your little one to the parks, pictures are unnecessary thing for me and my family. We have taken pictures in the same locations for over 10 years. Watching them grow and the attractions stay the same size is something I grow more fond of each year. When we started the tradition, my intention was to have memories and to see growth. But I really didn’t think it would have such a big impact on the kids themselves. If you love to take pictures, but don't like having to ask strangers, there is always the option of purchasing Memory Maker. This will allow you to stop wherever you see Photo Pass photographers and allow them to take your picture. Afterwards they will scan your MagicBand+, phone, or they can give you a card as well. If you are using the My Disney Experience App, you will find all of your pictures inside of the photo section. These will all be available for download and make the memories last a lifetime.
