Hi there Sammie, and a warm wedding anniversary welcome to planDisney!
First of all, I'd like to say Congratulations on celebrating one year of marriage with your husband! I recently hit that milestone myself and there really isn't any better way to mark the occasion than with a fun romantic vacation (or staycation) at Walt Disney World Resort. It's so great that you're hoping to start a special anniversary tradition for you both, and you definitely want to get it right the first time as you look ahead to marking every five years of your Happily Ever Afters.
As far as whether you can go ahead with your plan on hiring a photographer to do this on property, here's what the Cast Members there as well as management had to say about whether this was currently allowed:
- Another part of your plan that can be a challenge is wearing your wedding attire, since at the current time only couples booked through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons have the ability to either have Disney Fine Art Photography for a Resort Portrait Session, or even their own outside photographer take pictures of them at the Theme Parks or Disney Resort Hotels and only after signing an agreement as well as being approved with the appropriate insurance coverage to do so on property. (This way, even if approached by an uninformed Cast Member, your photographer will have documentation to present or contact information from the Weddings team to let them know whether you're allowed to have photos taken at that location)
Though this may be different from what other couples may have experienced or gotten away with in the past, it has been observed that management at many Disney Resort Hotels have become increasingly strict and vigilant about preventing unauthorized professional photo shoots from occurring without their knowledge nor permission. Ideally you'll want to reach out to the appropriate leadership first just to ensure that you don't encounter any unwelcome situations or disappointment on such a special occasion!
Some safer, authorized alternatives may include Enchanting Extras like a
Capture Your Moment session (that will allow you to dress up nicely, however not in wedding attire) during your own private photo shoot in the theme parks and if you've got a budget that allows for it, some couples even
book special Anniversary Parties where they can have their photographs taken during their reserved date and location.
Here's hoping you can find a great way to capture all the years of your Happily Ever After!
