Hi! My husband and I are staying  late April with our 2 y/o son and my mother, who requires a wheelchair. Any advice for visiting the MK with a stroller and my mom's wheelchair/ECV? I'm not sure how to handle both for lines, rider switch, etc.

    Hello, Nicole,

My mother, too, was in a wheelchair when she came to Walt Disney World with us and to this day my dad speaks so highly of their experience as you truly don't need to worry about anything.  Cast members will let you know everything you need to know about the lines, rider switch, and such. As each attraction is different, there isn't one set of rules so they will take care of it all.

I would encourage you to explore the different attractions beforehand by reading about Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities as some of them require guests to transfer from their wheelchair while others allow guests to remain in them. Since my mother was unable to leave her wheelchair, we took the time to make our plans around the attractions and entertainment she would be able to enjoy with us.

As for your son's stroller, you will most likely be asked to park your stroller prior to getting in line.  Throughout the parks, you'll see designated areas for stroller parking or a cast member will show where you that is when you arrive at the entrance to the attraction.

Overall with most of the attractions at the parks, I think you'll find that you will need to park your son's stroller while your mom will be able to remain in her wheelchair through the attraction lines.

Wishing you a pixie-dusted trip!  Please let us know if we can help again.
