My husband and I are staying in a garden wing room at the Contemporary Resort in Dec for my birthday. Besides going to California Grill, is there a good location to view the fireworks there or in the MK area without going into the park?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Helaine!

One of my favorite things to do at the Walt Disney World Resort during my visits is to enjoy one of the dazzling firework displays at the parks. There’s just no other place that does fireworks like Disney!

Helaine, Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel offers some of the sweetest views of Magic Kingdom’s magnificent firework shows like Happily Ever After. Like you mentioned, a perfectly timed dinner reservation at California Grill will guarantee you dinner AND a show. But you can definitely enjoy the fireworks outside of the restaurant. On the fourth floor of the hotel, there is access to a balcony where you will have a great view of the fireworks. I’ve watched them from there and it really is a great spot!

If you want to venture out of the hotel, the dock by the Ticket and Transportation Center is another great spot to watch. You’ll even get the soundtrack piped in! And if you’re in the mood for a yummy treat with your show, jump on the monorail, head over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, stop by the Pineapple Lanai to grab a tasty DOLE WHIP® pineapple soft serve, then head to the beach for another great firework viewing spot.

I hope this information was helpful. If you have any additional questions or need planning tips or advice, don’t hesitate to stop by. We hope to see ya real soon!
