Welcome back to planDisney, Amy Lee!
Oh, you must be so excited to be visiting Walt Disney World at the same time as your friends. How magical!
Amy Lee, while pool hopping used to be allowed at some WDW Resort hotels, that is no longer the case. Not to worry, though. There are SO many non-park activities you and your friends can enjoy together.
First, if it's pool time you're seeking, check out spending the day at
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. Imagine lingering at
Melt-Away Bay; it's a one-acre wave pool that lets guests get as close to--or as far from--the action as they'd like. When you're ready to chill and chat as you drift along a long lazy river, head over to
Cross Country Creek. This is a great way to stay cool, have some mild fun, and catch up with family and friends in the rafts around you. Of course, in my group, that always includes a little hijinks with someone keeping an eye on upcoming overhead waterfalls while also keeping the innocent--but oblivious--others distracted as they nudge their rafts toward it. Talk about building core memories!
Break for lunch at
Lottawatta Lodge and maybe a cocktail at
Polar Pub. Both are great locations for grabbing refreshments, park-specific favorites, and enjoying the vibe of this wonderful wintry-wonderland water park.
You may also want to consider other options for your time together such as visiting
Disney Springs for shopping, bowling, a movie, or dining. You should also look at meeting for a delicious dinner at a gorgeous restaurant such as
California Grill, having high tea at
The Garden View Lounge - Tea Experience, or enjoying a family-style meal at
'Ohana. All three of these restaurants are located on the
Resort Line Monorail Loop, so you all can simply take
Walt Disney World Bus Service from your resort to Magic Kingdom, then hop onto the monorail to get to your destination. In fact, the first two locations are within easy walking distance from MK, with flat, well-lit paths to guide you along the way.
Amy Lee, you might also want to check out a meal at
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera for either breakfast or dinner. This beautiful--and delicious--spot is located right at your friend's resort. Time your dinner right, and you can head outside to the terrace and enjoy a cocktail while watching fireworks from
Luminous The Symphony of Us. My husband and I did that with family and friends recently, and it was one of the most lovely evenings of our trip!
