My husband and I will be staying at the cabins at fort wilderness in July. We have never been to Disney before. How will we know what buses to take to the parks and the times they will be at the bus station?

Howdy, Samantha! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so glad you stopped by with this question because we're going to be talking about one of my very favorite places to stay at the Walt Disney World Resort!

My family plans a stay in the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at least once a year. They're so much fun, and with a full kitchen, living room, and separate bedroom, you have the space to really spread out. And you're going to love sipping your morning coffee on your own deck right next to your cabin. It's the best way to start your Disney day!

Another great thing about "the Fort," Samantha, is its perfect location just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom Park. It's so easy to pop over to the marina, hop aboard, and be on your way to the magic in minutes. For all the other Theme Parks and Disney Springs, you'll take Disney bus transportation from the stop near the front of the Resort. You'll see monitors displaying the arrival times for buses bound for each location, and each bus will be clearly marked with its final destination, so you'll always know you're getting on the right one.

You can also check bus arrival times in your My Disney Experience app before you even get to the bus stop! Just click on your Resort hotel reservation and find "Bus Arrival Times" to see when your bus will be there. It's a real timesaver!

Samantha, the Fort also has an internal bus system you can use to access all the Resort has to offer, but if you haven't already, I suggest renting a golf cart to make getting around even easier. It's so convenient to just drive your own golf cart to the bus stop or marina (or pool, or store, or beach, or dinner, or stables...), and hop on your ride to the Parks.

I'm so excited for you to experience Walt Disney World for the first time, Samantha! I'm sure you have so many more questions. Please don't hesitate to come back and see us again if you need anything else at all. We're always here to help!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
