My husband and I stay at Fort Wilderness campground quite often and need to go to a fitness center.. can we purchase a pass for Sturdy Branches health club at the Wilderness lodge? If not where is the closest fitness center?

Howdy, Deborah, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad to hear that you are a repeat guest at Disney’s Fort Wilderness. I’m sure you know the grounds better than Sheriff Woody himself.

Unfortunately, it is Disney policy that if you are not staying at a resort, the amenities such as pool and fitness center cannot be used. In your case, I made sure to call the Sturdy Branches Health Club, since it’s so close to your home resort and sadly, you cannot purchase a pass either. If you decide to split your stay at a resort with a Fitness Center, you could use it at that point. Otherwise, the only options are to jog around your home resort or taxi to a nearby health center such as the Central Florida YMCA. It’s very close to the Resort and you can often have a complimentary day’s membership or a two week pass for a fabulous rate.

I hope you have a magical vacation and find room to stretch your legs. If not, you can always fall with style like Buzz! ~ Lindsey P.
