My husband and I will be spending our 28th anniversary at AKL and POR in April 2014. We have already decided on club level q/q for AKL and royal for POR but would like to know where in the buildings to request to limit unnecessary walking due to arthritis.

    Hello Teri!

It sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned for your 28th anniversary!  Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Port Orleans Riverside are both lovely resort choices for your celebration.

At all Walt Disney World Resorts, you are able to make certain room requests if you so choose.  Be sure to call (407) WDW-STAY to add requests to your reservations.  Also, confirm your requests upon check-in. Although they are simply requests, Cast Members work hard to try to fulfill them.  I recommend that you request rooms located close to the elevators.  At Port Orleans Riverside specifically, you will also want to request a room in the Magnolia Bend section.  There are no elevators in the Alligator Bayou.

Feel free to come back and ask me any additional planning questions, Teri.  I'm happy to help.

Until then, I wish you a magical vacation!
