My husband & I, & 3 sons (4, 6, and 9) will be making our first trip to Disney October 20-26. I am debating between the QS plan and the standard DDP. I don't want to "waste" a lot of time waiting in restaurants, but I do want the best ex

I would recommend the standard dining plan, Jennifer.  In my opinion, dining in Disney's unique (and often themed) restaurants is definitely part of the overall vacation experience.  Not only will doing so give you the opportunity to try some tasty dishes, but you'll get to see some creative restaurants (Garden Grill in Epcot literally rotates as you dine) and maybe even visit with Mickey and his friends during your meal.  And while it may take a bit longer to eat in a table-service restaurant, in most cases it won't be significantly longer than it would take you to eat a counter-service meal.  I truly don't think you'll be sorry investing in the standard dining plan.  Enjoy!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
