My husband, son and I will be staying at the Carribean Beach Resort from 12/29/10-1/1/11, I am wondering what is the easiest way to get around, we are planning on visiting HS, WDW, and Epcot should we take the bus or drive our personal vehicle?

    Ayesha:

My answer to this very-popular question depends on several things: 1) your resort  2) the time of year you're vacationing  and 3) which theme park you're visiting.

Caribbean Beach Resort sports a large campus, and there are many bus stops at the resort. If you get on at the first stop, by the time you're let off at the front gate of Disney's Hollywood Studios, you could have driven your car and be riding Tower of Terror!  Even with the large crowds of the holidays, the tram from the parking lot will be a lot faster than waiting on a bus, so I definitely think you should take your car to Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

Magic Kingdom's another thing... its parking lot is a ferry ride or monorail trek away from the front gate. Even with multiple bus stops at the resort, I recommend taking the bus.

Two exceptions: If you're not a good navigator, keep in mind that Disney's road signage is minimal. You may lose time and add frustration to your trip if you don't know exactly where you're going.  Lastly, if you are planning on drinking alcohol, especially with the holiday festivities, I recommend keeping your car parked, regardless of the park. You can enjoy your vacation and keep you, your family, and other families safe.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
