Hello, My husband and son and I are planning our visit for September this year. I plan on purchasing genie plus for all three of us. However, my husband will only do a handful of rides. Will I have to get a lightning lane for all three of us?

Hi Brandi! Welcome to planDisney, we're thrilled to have you here! Thank you so much for reaching out to our friendly panelists with your first question!

I see that you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in September. This is a great time of the year to visit because the weather is getting better and the crowds are more manageable. Although there are lower crowds, I still think that using Disney Genie+ service with access to Lightning Lanes is a great choice. Personally, I can't do a trip without it as it saves lots of time, and you can also get some beautiful digital download photos from amazing attractions such as TRON Lightcycle / Run

You will be happy to know that you can select and remove anyone from your party when choosing Lightning Lanes. The My Disney Experience app will automatically select everyone when you start the process, but you can remove your husband from that particular selection if he wishes to sit it out, and include him again for the next one he signs up to go on. It's all about choices, right?

This is an excellent way to make sure that you're not taking another Guest possibility to ride that attraction. Kudos to you and your lovely family for being so magical and nice!

Oh, and here's my top tip for optimizing your day with Genie+. You can buy it on the day you visit, starting at midnight, and make your first selection at 7 AM. After that, you can make your next selection two hours after the theme park opens or after redeeming an existing Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selection, whichever comes first. What I usually do is set an alarm on my phone for every two hours so I can quickly jump back into the app and make my next selection. This way, I don't need to stay glued to my phone the whole day, and I don't miss any opportunities to book my favorite rides.

I hope this helps, and you have the most spectacular and magical trip ever! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help a friend like you!
