Hi, there!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jackie. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I can't think of a more magical place to celebrate a first birthday than
Magic Kingdom Park. Your little guy won't remember his special day, but you and your husband certainly will! The memories my family has made together at the Walt Disney World Resort are so precious and priceless. I know you'll feel the same way about yours!
You'll be happy to know that there are lots of
family-friendly attractions your 1-year old can enjoy at Magic Kingdom Park. These attractions are perfect for Guests of all ages because they don't feature height restrictions. My little ones have always most loved the attractions in Fantasyland. Peter Pan's Flight and Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid have gentle, easy tracks. "it's a small world," a boat ride around the globe, is nice and gentle too. As a mom of three, I especially love Dumbo the Flying Elephant and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. These attractions feature interactive queues which make waiting to ride lots of fun!
I recommend making a reservation at
The Crystal Palace for your son's birthday celebration. This unique restaurant features great food and the lovely company of Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred-Acre Wood. Since your son is under the age of 3, he can eat from the buffet for free! We celebrated my son's second birthday at The Crystal Palace a few years ago, and we had a perfectly magical experience. Our Server brought our birthday boy a cupcake and a signed card from the Characters!
Do be sure to stop by Guest Relations for a complimentary birthday button. If your son isn't at all interested in wearing it, attach it to your stroller or diaper bag. It's sure to add a bit of extra magic to your day!
I hope this was helpful, Jackie. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
