My husband (47), son (13) and I (42) are finally taking our first trip to WDW in Oct. I have been dreaming of this trip since I was 5! Can you recommend a signature restaurant that emcompasses the magic of Disney as well as a great gourmet menu?

Hey there fellow Arizonan!  I am happy to report that I most certainly can recommend a signature dining location overflowing with Disney magic: California Grill.  It's located on the 15th floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort and offers sweeping views of the Magic Kingdom.  It sprung immediately to mind when I read your question because, though I've dined in several of Disney's signature restaurants, this one--I believe--offers unmatched ambiance.  Many guests reserve meal times that correspond with the Magic Kingdom's fireworks show.  During the fireworks, the lights in the restaurant are dimmed and the music is "piped in" so that diners are treated to the whole shebang (pun intended!).  There is even a viewing deck so that, if you prefer, you can go outside to watch the show (speakers allow you to hear the music there, too).  All that, plus an amazing culinary experience to boot!

My second choice would be Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It, too, offers unique ambiance (though much different than that at California Grill) and superbly delicious menu options.

You really can't go wrong either way!
