Hi, Allyson, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Is there anything better than
celebrating a birthday at Disneyland Resort? I'm so excited to hear that your little Mouseketeer will be visiting Mickey and all of his friends on his special day! As you know, children under 3 years of age are considered "Guests of Mickey" and do not need a ticket to enter the
Disneyland Resort theme parks. I'm happy to tell you that a little one's age is determined by the first day that you use your park ticket. So since your son will be 2 years old on the first day of your trip, there's no need to
purchase theme park tickets for him.
Be sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in
Disneyland Park, or Guest Services in
Disney California Adventure Park to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your little guy. If you're looking for a special way to celebrate, a
character dining experience would be practically perfect in every way. My family and I love the breakfast at
Goofy's Kitchen! Don't forget to have the
Disney PhotoPass photographers capture all of those special birthday memories for your family. At Disneyland Resort, you can enjoy unlimited downloads of your Disney PhotoPass pictures on days when you purchase
Disney Genie+.
Allyson, I hope your son has the happiest of birthdays! If we can help you with anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.
Have a magical day!
Samantha
