My husband and son (age 4) and I are planning another trip to Disney in Feb. 2010. We would like to stay at the Contemporary again, but this time, Bay Lake. We loved our room last year in the tower. Will a studio at Bay Lake be too small and cramped?

Hello Stephanie!  I have stayed in both a regular room at the Contemporary and a studio at Bay Lake Towers.  The living area in the studios is smaller than the Contemporary, especially when the pull out couch is expanded into a bed.  I was there with two of my teenage children and we did feel cramped at times.  We all agreed that we prefer the regular Contemporary rooms vs. the studios as far as the layout and space.

However, there are some conveniences you'll want to consider.  The studios come with a kitchenette which can be useful.  You'll have a mini refrigerator, a microwave, coffee pot, etc.  And if you're lucky enough to have a view of Magic Kingdom - it can't be beat.

One downfall to the studios is there is not a lock on the bathroom door - and it's the type that slides back and forth - similar to Contemporary rooms.  However, when you enter the bathroom, the toilet and shower are located inside - there is not a separate room for the toilet area like there is in the Contemporary rooms.  This may or may not be an issue for you but I thought I would mention it since you have a little one.

Good luck with your decision!  Diane
