My husband has signed up for the WDW half marathon in January 2013. My question is, when he goes to pick up his race packet on friday before the race, how long can we anticipate that might take, (so we can plan the rest of that day)?

Hi Alicia!  The Walt Disney World half marathon is a great race!  Your husband will love it!

The lines at the packet pick-up can look pretty long, but the process is actually fairly quick.  He will go in one building to pick up his race bib (make sure he has his waiver printed out and signed, and his driver's license, that will speed things along).  Then he will go to the expo part to pick up his race bag and his t-shirt.  The expo is really big that weekend, and it will be hard for him (and you!) to not want to look around and shop some.  If you don't shop, you can expect it to take between 20 and 30 minutes.  I generally allow myself at least two hours to do the pick-up and to look around.  There are lots of giveaways, running gear on sale, race event sales, and even a runDisney speaker series that you can sit and listen to.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions as you prepare for his race!
