My husband and I want to sign up for the Expedition Everest Challenge. It will be our first 5k and we are not big runners, but thought running in the challenge would be a fun fitness goal for us. Is there a time limit we have to finish the race in?

    Hi Jamie!

The Expedition Everest Challenge is a really fun race!  It's a great event for new runners and for families.

There is a 16-minute/mile pace requirement.  This is around a 3.75 mph rate.  It's a brisk walk and it's an overall pace, so you could go faster at some points and slower at others.  Also, the pacers will begin timing at the very end of the runners, so the farther up you are in the starting area, the more time you will have.

This is a really easy pace, and I think you'll find that you will have plenty of time to get ready for it, especially if you begin training now.  I would advise training at a 15 minute/mile pace.  This way you have extra time to spare and you will be less nervous going into the race.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about the Expedition Everest Challenge.
