My husband and I share the one Disney account and use it on separate devices. While staying at a WDW hotel, at 7am can e.g my husband book a genie+ lightening lane, and at the same time can I book an individual lightening lane?

Hi Andrew Sara, welcome to planDisney!

You have all the ingredients for a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel includes extra pixie dust such as early theme park entry, which gives you 30-minutes early entry at all four theme parks each day. My favorite perk of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is the ability to book advance dining reservations for your entire stay (up to 10 days) 60 days before check-in.

I understand you and your husband currently share a My Disney Experience account. Another perk of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is the ability to book Individual Lightning Lane attractions at 7:00 a.m. as opposed to park opening. Individual Lightning Lanes are booked from the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen --> Tip Board). Scroll to your desired attraction and click to purchase in the "LL Individual Lightning Lane" box. You'll confirm your party, select your desired arrival time, and proceed with payment.

I recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ service via the Tip Board by 6:45 a.m. so you're ready to book your first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. Genie+ Lightning Lanes are also booked on the Tip Board. Scroll to your desired attraction and select "Book Experience" in the "LL Disney Genie+" box.

Even though you will be accessing the same My Disney Experience account on separate devices, the Lightning Lane booking system is not equipped to manage two simultaneous requests from the same account. It's not even designed to make simultaneous reservations for the same group of people under separate accounts. In both cases, you risk canceling out both attempts and not finalizing either reservation. I recommend booking your first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. because the process takes less time since you don't have to pay or pick an arrival time. Once your first Genie+ Lightning Lane is booked, return to your Tip Board immediately to book your Individual Lightning Lane. Your personal priorities should also be taken into consideration.

I'll also share that early theme park entry is a great time to experience an Individual Lightning Lane attraction (or two!) via the standby line. My family recently saved money by experiencing Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios via the standby line as soon as the park opened for Disney Resort Guests. We waited less than 30 minutes and had extra money to spend on souvenEARS.

Thanks for letting planDisney be a part of your trip-planning team. We'd love to help answer any other questions before, during, or after your trip.
