My husband served 2 tours of duty in Iraq in 2003 and 2005 as a US Marine. We are planning an entire family Thanksgiving week vacation for this year. Do you ladies have any specific tips on how to find and use military discounts on ticket purchases? Thanks

    Hello Allison!

First of all, from one military wife to another, I just want to say "Thank you" to your husband for his service.

The current military special offers will expire 30SEPT2012.  At this time, we do not know if Disney will be extending the offers past that date.  Last year, an extension was not announced until very close to the prior expiration date.  The best way to stay up-to-date on the latest offers is to keep an eye on the Special Offers page on the website as well as the news sections on several unofficial sites like wdwinfo.com.

As far as discounted park tickets go, you may want to check out the Shades of Green website for information on their ticketing options.

Keep in mind, the Walt Disney World military special offers are only available to Active Duty Military and Retired Military Members.  A valid military ID is required to take advantage of these offers.  You can read all of the fine print at the military special offers website by clicking the link.  Shades of Green does have offers for non-retired former military members.

    Have a magical day,
    Ashley
