Hi there, Cynthia! Welcome to planDisney! I’d be happy to help you find the info you're looking for, and please give your husband our thanks for his service and sacrifice.
Honorably discharged veterans with a copy of a current DD-214 form can stay at
Shades of Green through the
Salute to Our Veterans program (subject to availability). Shades of Green is located on the grounds of Walt Disney World and is operated by the Department of Defense for use by military service members, families, and sponsored guests. Veterans eligible to stay at Shades of Green Resort are also eligible for discounted theme park tickets. They can be purchased through your local military base’s MWR/ITT office or the Shades of Green Resort Attraction Ticket Office (in-person or
online).
You can find more specific
eligibility information for Shades of Green here, but I’d encourage you to reach out to your local base ticket office or the Shades of Green
Attraction Tickets Sales Office for more information.
With all the new and soon-to-debut attractions and shows at Walt Disney World, your September visit is going to be truly magical. You won’t want to miss
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure at Hollywood Studios, and the new nighttime parade at the Magic Kingdom,
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, will be up and running by the time you visit. And while an official date hasn’t been announced yet, the reimagined Test Track at EPCOT is expected to open this year. I’d keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for up-to-date news and updates as your Walt Disney World adventure approaches.
Cynthia, I hope this information is helpful for your trip planning. Come right back if you have any additional questions. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!
Magical travels!
Matt
