Ahoy, Kevin!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You are sailing on one of my favorite Disney Cruise Line itineraries out of my favorite port of call! My family and I have sailed to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder twice and loved every second of both voyages! It doesn't get much better than dancing during the
Sail-Away Celebration while watching seaplanes fly overhead as your voyage to the last frontier begins.
We did exactly what you and your husband are planning on doing: spent an extra day in Vancouver before our cruise set sail. Since you won't be heading straight to your cruise from the plane, you'll need to pick up your bags at the airport and bring them with you to your hotel. (This means you will not put the Disney Cruise Line luggage tags on your bags before your flight to Vancouver.) The hotel we stayed at in Vancouver was right across the street from The Port of Vancouver Cruise Ship Terminal. My family and I rolled our luggage straight from the hotel to the luggage drop-off area inside the cruise terminal building. It was so close! I know for an additional fee our hotel offered services to drive my family and our luggage to the cruise terminal, but we declined. I suggest calling the hotel you're staying at and ask if they offer a similar service, and also how far the hotel is from the cruise terminal building!
If you arrange a hotel stay in Vancouver at either of the two hotels offered through Disney Cruise Line, you may add optional
ground transfers from your hotel to the port. Give the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 if you're interested in arranging a hotel stay and ground transfers.
Kevin, I hope I was able to help! Please visit us again with any further questions you might have!
