Ahoy, Caroline!
I hope you are looking forward to sailing the high seas with Disney Cruise Line. Your cruise will be here before you know it!
Thank you for sending me your question regarding the Castaway Cay 5K fun run that occurs on Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, for all sailings that dock in this tropical paradise. You are correct, strollers are not allowed on the course. Additionally, for your safety, the safety of your little one and the safety of other runners, you will not be able to participate with your child on your back or shoulders. Children need to be at least 10 years of age to be on the course.
However, this does not mean you and your Prince Charming will not be able to participate. I highly recommend using the on-board childcare services of
It's a Small World Nursery. Your kiddo will be safe and sound while you are running. My littlest one was just under two during our sailing when she visited the nursery and she loved it! Check with Guest Services when you board and ask for the hours of operation during the day you dock in Castaway Cay - let them know you plan on participating in the race.
I hope this helps, Caroline! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me, or to our Disney Cruise Line Specialist with any additional questions you may have. And don't forget to check your Navigator Newsletter for instructions on how to register for the 5K.
Bon Voyage!
