My husband and I are running our first half marathon in November. We are are staying at the AOA We have looked at the map and it seems to only be a mile to the start of the race at the ESPN Center, is this reasonable to plan on walking to the race start?

Hi Dana!  The Art of Animation Resort looks amazing!  You and your husband will love it!  The Wine and Dine half marathon is also my favorite runDisney event.  I love running at night and having the post-race party at Epcot!

Since it isn't a host resort, there won't be any buses running to the starting line from that resort.  You are correct, though, that your resort is close to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which is where the race begins.  As long as you are comfortable with walking that distance before your race, then you can definitely do it.  I was there this past week, and there was a little construction going on around that area, but there is a sidewalk that runs along the streets.

It may be a nice little warm-up for you to get ready for the race!  Just be sure to leave in plenty of time to get to the starting area early.

Your resort front desk will be a great place to confirm directions.   I think you will just head out the entrance of your resort and go left onto Victory Road!

Please let me know if you have any other questions as you get ready for your race.
