Hiya Daniela,
Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so glad you got to connect with one of my favorite people, Ana Paula, about your upcoming trip. First, good luck and congratulations to your husband on the upcoming
Disney Princess Half Marathon. I was fortunate enough to run in that one a few years ago and will be running the 10k in February!
Now I know Ana Paula has already previewed
EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts, but let’s talk about some other things you can do with your little during that time. If I’m being honest, most of the Theme Parks can get pretty busy during a race weekend with the influx of runners, especially Magic Kingdom Park. As the mom to a little one, I find that the Theme Parks that are likely to be less busy and most enjoyable for your little ones would be
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and maybe
EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I personally love Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park for little ones. It is much more relaxed as a Theme Park, and it feels special because you get to see some of the most incredible animals. Be sure to take your Mouseketeers on Kilimanjaro Safaris during your visit there. It is my favorite! I mentioned that EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios are generally a good second choice because they can be crowded depending on the day. EPCOT is excellent because of the International Festival of the Arts and all of the yummy festival food booths. Because the Theme Park is relatively large, you can spread out a little more there, which makes it feel less crowded to me. That said, any time you mix an EPCOT festival with a runDisney race weekend, it can be a recipe for crowds, so I would take that into consideration.
I hope this helps, Daniela! Please come back and see us if you have any additional questions. We want to ensure you and your entire family have a magical weekend, so we are more than happy to help.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
