Hello, Bethany! Welcome to planDisney!
Thank you for taking the time to run by with your question. It looks like you have your sneakers ready for your stop at
Disney Castaway Cay – my favorite island paradise.
The
“it’s a small world” nursery is open on the ship when you are docked at Castaway Cay. The nursery is full of interactive features and hidden delights that will keep your toddler busy while you’re running the Castaway 5K. Nursery times can be booked online, or you can also check onboard at the nursery for availability.
Since there isn’t a scheduled start or end time for the Castaway 5K, you can participate one at a time. I would hop on the tram to Pelican Point, disembark, and make this part of the family beach your home base. This is the perfect spot because it has everything you need close by – food, water activities, and the starting point of the 5K. Your toddler will love playing at Spring-A-Leak, a splash pad surrounded by bubbling water, dripping pipes, and, best of all, benches for parents to sit and watch their little ones explore.
Once everyone finishes the run, you can stop by Cookies Too BBQ for a laid-back lunch featuring salmon, chicken, hamburgers, and some plant-based choices. This is all included in your cruise fare, so enjoy as much as you like. Since you burned so many calories running the 5K, I suggest getting two chocolate chip cookies and making an ice cream sandwich for dessert. Delicious!
I hope this helps as you plan the best route for your family. Run by again if we can be of further assistance!
SEAS the adventure,
Tracie
