My husband and I would like to ride the Mountains at MK but our 3 year old isn’t tall enough. If we both used 1 Fast Pass each to ride Thunder Mountain, our daughter would still have her own for a different ride. Would she not be able to use it?

    Hi Emily!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for stopping by with such a great question.

Planning a trip with your three-year-old must be so exciting! In my opinion, three years old is the perfect time for a visit. They are old enough to appreciate the attractions, and watching them meet their favorite characters is so sweet. Make sure to visit Walt Disney Worlds Planning for Preschool Kids & Little Ones Guide. It is full of great advice for family fun.

When planning your FastPass+ selections, to experience the attractions together as a family, each member of your party will need to have the same FastPass+ return time. For example, if you choose Peter Pan Flight at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, your child, you and your husband would all need the same FastPass+ return time. If you choose FastPass+ return times for attractions that your child isn’t tall enough for, you and your husband could experience those attractions. However, your daughter wouldn’t be able to use a FastPass+ return time for another attraction since you wouldn’t have a return time for that attraction. My advice would be to choose attractions and entertainment offerings that all of you can experience together for your FastPass+ selections.

One great offering is the Rider Switch Service. Since your daughter won’t meet some of the height requirements, one adult can wait with your daughter while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they will then stay with your daughter while you can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again! Rider Switch is available at select attractions at all four theme parks. Your entire party will check in with a Cast Member at the attraction entrance. This is a great way to get to experience the attractions that your daughter is too small for.

I hope that you have the most magical time! Enjoy watching the magic through the eyes of a child!
