My husband returnins from Afghanistan in Dec. and we want to do a Disney Cuise/Park vacation for when he comes home. We are hoping to do the Parks for Christmas then a Cruise for New Years. Suggestions regarding timiing? Do they have a New Years cruise?

    Hi Susan!

You can see the exact cruises available in January by going to the main Disney Cruise Line web page or clicking here.  There are a couple of cruises available in January, but none that actually start on January 1st.  You would either have to go just before New Year's or just after.  However, the less expensive staterooms on a cruise that actually covers New Year's appear to be sold out.

My recommendation would be to spend New Year's in the parks, specifically Epcot because it does a great job absorbing huge crowds and then going on the first January cruise on the new Disney Dream.  I had the privilege of cruising on the Disney Dream this year and it is a fabulous ship!  Everything about it is amazing.  I knew it would be an improvement over the Magic and Wonder, but it is much more than that.  The adult entertainment area is especially fantastic!

Good luck with your decision and write back if you have any more questions!
