Hello! My husband and I are return visitors, but are taking our daughter (who will be 3) in December for her first visit. We have always stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and loved it. We have never stayed at the Poly, which do you recommend?

    Hi Alexa!

Taking your child for their first visit to Walt Disney World is such a  momentous occasion. There is nothing more precious than seeing the magic of Disney through your child's eyes and rediscovering what it really means to be a kid all over again. My family loves the Wilderness Lodge, the majestic lobby in it's absolute breathtaking design has won our hearts over and over again.

For your first visit with your daughter, I would try staying at the Polynesian.  This lobby is gorgeous with it's lush vegetation and waterfall, you will feel as if you are truly in a tropical paradise. One of my number one reasons for families to stay at the Polynesian is that it is situated on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop.  It is also a short walk to the Ticket and Transportation Center where you can catch the monorail to Epcot. Another great feature of staying at the Polynesian is the spectacular views of Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant.  Kick off your shoes, wiggle the sand beneath your feet and relax as the night sky lights up, this is also a plus if you are unsure how your little one will react to the fireworks.

When it's time to dine,  Ohana serves a wonderful breakfast where your daughter can eat with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey Mouse, and Pluto.  It is a great way to get her introduced to the charters before taking her to meet them in the parks.  Are you a fan of the infamous Dole Whips?  Well Captain Cook's Snack Company has a self serve machine where you can enjoy them anytime you want.
While I am a huge fan of The Wilderness Lodge, I think that the Polynesian Resort will be perfect for your daughters first visit and be the start of some terrific family memories.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
