My husband is retired army and we have booked a military discount cruise. We want to take my mother in law but I have read that only spouse and kids can go with veteran. Is that true?

    Hello, Stephanie! Welcome to planDisney!

Thank you for visiting us to ask your question. I'd love to share more about the Special US Military Rates for your upcoming Disney Cruise vacation.

Special military rates are limited to a maximum of one stateroom per military member, per sailing. This means that if your mother-in-law will be traveling with you in your stateroom, she will be able to enjoy the discounted rate, as it applies to the entire stateroom. If however, you would need an additional stateroom, the US military rate would not be applicable for a second stateroom.

Please note that upon arrival to the cruise terminal for check-in, at least one adult member of the party needs to provide proof of active or retired U.S. military identification. This military identification needs to be presented along with the required travel documentation as outlined on the Disney Cruise Line website

I hope that information helps clear up your question! My friend is eligible for the special military rate, and she planned a Disney Cruise with some close friends. We were all grateful for the discount as we shared a stateroom. I'm hopeful that you also enjoy your special rate!

Thank you for your family's service and sacrifice. I'm wishing you wonderful memories during your time at sea. Please sail back to planDisney with more questions. My pals and I would be happy to help!
