My husband and I are renting a home in The Villages for the winter months. Our grand children will be coming to visit us and we wanted to bring them to Disney World. Would we qualify for Florida Resident tickets?

    Hi Leigh,

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your Florida Resident ticket question! How wonderful that you’re thinking of bringing your grandchildren to Walt Disney World—what a practically perfect way to make magical memories together! We often travel with my in-laws on our more extended visits, and there’s nothing quite like watching them soak in the joy of their granddaughters giggling, dancing to a parade beat, or running up for a warm hug from their favorite characters. My mother-in-law always says those moments are more magical than a spin on the Tea Cups!

Now, let’s bibbidi bobbidi get into your question about Florida Resident tickets. To purchase a Florida Resident ticket, each adult in your party will need to provide proof of Florida residency. Here are a few acceptable options:

    • A valid Florida driver’s license (with a Florida address)
    • A valid Florida state-issued ID card (with a Florida address)
    • A valid Florida-based military ID
If you don’t have one of those, no worries! You may also present certain documents—dated within the last two months—alongside a matching photo ID, like a passport. These can include: mortgage statements, utility or insurance bills, vehicle registration, or mail from financial institutions or government agencies.

For the full enchanted scroll of acceptable documents, you can click here. If you can provide proof of residency, you should be eligible for a Florida resident ticket.

While you’re exploring ticket options, I also highly recommend checking out the Special Offers page on the Walt Disney World website. From discounts on tickets to resort stays, there are magical savings for both Florida and non-Florida residents—but like Olaf on a sunny day, they don’t stick around long, so be sure to grab one if it suits your royal plans!

Leigh, I hope this helped answer your question and gives you a bit more pixie dust as you plan a grand adventure with your grandchildren. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop by again!

    See you real soon,

    Christina
