Walt Disney World Resort this weekend - what a perfect way to spend the holiday! We mustn't make you late for your very important date, so let's get right to your question.
As an
Annual Passholder and a Florida resident, you can enjoy regular trips to The Most Magical Place on Earth with a minimum of fuss. I must say, I'm a little jealous! I recently joined the Annual Pass club since I have a few upcoming Disney trips on the horizon, and I am definitely enjoying learning about all of the perks.
Your renewal question is such a good one! I called in the experts and consulted with a couple of Cast Members to get the most up-to-date information. The folks I spoke with confirmed that you
cannot upgrade the renewed pass and apply that upgrade to the current pass. If you wish to upgrade your renewed pass, the status will begin on the date that the new Annual Pass starts.
I also asked whether there is a prorated option to upgrade your current pass for the time remaining on it, and unfortunately this isn't possible. You would need to pay full price for the upgrade, even if your Annual Pass is nearing its expiration date.
Ashley, I'm sorry this wasn't the answer you were hoping for! But never fear, there's still plenty of magic to be had before the clock strikes midnight on your current Annual Pass. Be sure to snag your park reservations ASAP as the holiday crowds can be pretty major, and get ready to celebrate America in style.
