My husband recently purchased 3-day tickets for SoCal residents, but I only have an instruction permit issued by the DMV and don't have a DL yet. The instruction permit has my name, photo and current address. Can I verify my residency by the permit?

Hello, friend. Thanks for visiting planDisney!

It sounds like you are getting prepared for some magic this year and with the special Southern California residents tickets for residents living within ZIP codes 90000 to 93599, it is a great time to visit The Happiest Place on Earth! The offer is a 3-day, 1-park per day ticket (subject to park reservation availability).

To use these tickets, all Guests ages 18 or older must provide proof of eligible residency, including a valid government-issued photo ID, for admission. Generally, DMV-issued temporary licenses and provisional instruction permits are not considered valid forms of identification (many even have this printed on them) and will not be accepted as proof of residency. If this is your situation, you will need to wait until you get your permanent driver's license or a California ID Card before using that SoCal ticket. I'm sorry!

SH, once you've got that government-issued photo ID ready to go, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for all of the exciting events going on in the park this year. I can't wait for the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival to return at the end of this month. It's one of the tastiest times of the year, and I love riding Soarin’ Over California during its limited-time return!

If you have any other questions, please come back by. We'd be happy to help plan a magical visit!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
