Hi Nicole,
I am very sorry your husband was in such a terrible accident. As a Physical Therapist I recommend Walt Disney World as the number one vacation destination to my friends who have mobility issues, even temporary issues. I have never encountered a place that is more accessible and accommodating to Guests with disabilities than Walt Disney World.
Since your husband is unable to tolerate long waits at attractions because of his disability, a
Disability Access Service Card (DAS) can be issued to help him to avoid standing in line for long periods of time. A Cast Member at Guest Relations inside any of the theme parks will discuss your husband's individual needs and assist him with obtaining a DAS card if it is needed in your husband's situation.
Nicole another consideration for your husband is a
Wheelchair or Scooter Rental at Walt Disney World. Check out the previous link to learn more about renting from any of the theme parks or a Disney featured provider.
Thank you for submitting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I truly hope your upcoming vacation is filled with Pixie Dust and your spirits are renewed after such a difficult time. Please let us know if you have any further questions about the DAS card or any other vacation planning topic. We love to help others make
MAGICAL memories.
Blessings,
Brenda ºOº
