Hello there, Diana!
I always feel like Star Wars' C-3PO when I get to answer these technical questions. I am at your service to help you prepare for a smooth Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
Like you, I am so excited about the recent news that Guests who purchase the Disney Genie+ service will also gain access to complimentary
digital PhotoPass downloads for select attraction photos taken on the day of their purchase. You can link photos to your My Disney Experience account with a MagicBand/MagicBand+ or an eligible mobile device with Bluetooth technology enabled for the My Disney Experience mobile app with
Disney MagicMobile service.
You can find a complete list of attractions with photo and video locations on the
Attraction Photos and Videos by Disney PhotoPass Service website. Some attraction photos like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train automatically appear in your My Disney Experience mobile app by simply ensuring that Bluetooth is enabled for the app. However, there are other attractions with a photo preview wall at the attraction exit, where you’ll need to tap your MagicBand or Disney MagicMobile service on the light-up Mickey Mouse under your photo preview to link the photos to your account.
In order for your photos to load to Disney MagicMobile service on your phone, you’ll want to make sure that your phone doesn’t go into low battery mode. This is why I always like to bring a portable phone charger along in my purse. Diana, please note that I do not believe that Apple Watches can be used to link ride photos automatically. I believe you can only use the Disney MagicMobile service on your mobile device to link ride photos.
I always like to check my photos throughout the day in the My Disney Experience mobile app by selecting the three horizontal bars in the bottom right corner of the screen, followed by “Photos.” Trust the force if some of your photos don’t appear until the end of the day.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
