Ahoy, Susan! I am so thrilled to welcome you back to planDisney and talk
Disney Cruise Line adventures. The line where the sky meets the sea, it calls me, too. I just wish I could answer "Yes!" more often.
It sounds like you have your planning priorities in order. I mark my calendar to remind me to stay up until midnight to book dining and onboard activities. I want to make sure I get some of these exquisite offerings as soon as possible.
Platinum Castaway Club members can book Port Adventures and
onboard fun starting 120 days before the cruise. Your friends in the other stateroom at the Silver level can book 90 days before the cruise.
Many of your Platinum benefits extend to everyone in your stateroom. For example, you can book activities at the 120-day mark, even if others in your room are not Platinum. One of my favorite benefits is a complimentary meal at
Palo or
Palo Steakhouse. Even if everyone in the stateroom is not at the Platinum level, they can dine together courtesy of Disney Cruise Line.
Unfortunately, in your case, you cannot book activities for Guests in another stateroom before their
booking window opens. We are trying to get my mother-in-law on another Disney Cruise. When dreams turn to plans, my sons will stay with her so she can enjoy these Platinum benefits with us, even though she is Silver level.
If your cruise has
Disney Castaway Cay or
Lookout Cay on its horizon, you can book a cabana and include other Guests, even if they are not in your stateroom or within their booking window. And if you are sailing on the Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy, you can book the Virtual Sports Simulator on
Goofy's Sports Deck and include them in the "athletic" fun against soccer goalie Goofy and baseball batter Goofy. For dining, beverage tastings and Port Adventures, you can either book yours and hope they have reservations for your friends or wait and book with them.
I know this is not the news you were hoping to hear. The best advice I can give is to book as soon as you can and either adjust, cancel or keep any reservations you want later.
And if you cannot get Palo reservations at the same time, check in with the Dining Team, as they usually have a special location set up on Embarkation Day for onboard dining requests. If you try this, I suggest you complete the
pre-arrival online check-in as soon as you are eligible. Get the earliest Port Arrival Time, even if it means meeting your friends on board rather than boarding together. The earlier you can get in line for your dining request, the better your chances of getting a reservation or being higher on the waitlist.
Susan, if we can help with any other questions, please come SEA us again at
planDisney.
Bon Voyage!
Jana
