My husband and I are planning to take our 2.5 and 5 yr old daughters to Disney World after Christmas 2011 and over New Year's. He would like to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge to see animals. I'd like to be on the monorail for convenience. Advice? Tips?

    Hi Hunter!

Okay, you asked for my honest opinion...If the majority of your focus and time will be on Magic Kingdom; I would take convenience at Disney over the animals any day.  There is NOTHING like staying on Disney property, in a deluxe resort that also allows you to walk a few steps to the monorail and get to Magic Kingdom! By the way..if you stay at The Contemporary Resort, you can WALK there!

With the girls being that young you could actually go back to your resort for naps.  You can book many wonderful restaurants in these resorts (can you say CHARACTER MEALS) and eliminate a ton of travel time waiting and riding Disney buses.

Please let your hubby know that you can visit the Animal Kingdom Lodge and watch the animals from many different areas around the hotel.  Once he rides the bus over there he'll understand what I'm saying about convenience.

You're going to Disney during my favorite time of year.  If you get a chance check out the gorgeous decorations at the resorts...on the monorail line...time saver...just sayin'.

Have a wonderful vacation and please tell your husband he may hate me know, but when he has to carry those sleeping kids back to the resort he'll thank me!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
