My husband and I are planning out 1st WDW vacation. Our son age 5 and daughter age 1 will be joining us. Which New Orleans resort would be best for us? Riverside or French Quarter..

    Hi Shenika,

A first vacation to Walt Disney World is a memorable event! I would recommend staying at Port Orleans French Quarter and here's why:

Port Orleans Riverside is undergoing a lot of renovations over the next year - all of which will enhance the rooms and are being done one building at a time - yet it is a large resort that is just starting to be updated.

Port Orleans French Quarter, however, has been recently renovated and you'll find queen beds in each room along with all new furnishings and decor.

POR is a huge resort. POFQ is much smaller and makes for a great resort when traveling with small children. The pool slide is geared to young kids and there is a nice playground nearby.

With one bus stop, the resort is more convenient for families with young kids.

When our son was young, Port Orleans French Quarter was one of our fave resorts!
